Join us for a socialist creative writing workshop! During this workshop, we will offer feedback on creative writing and do some exercises together to generate new writing. The goal of this workshop is to hone our work and create new work for the chapter's forthcoming publication. If you have work you'd like feedback on, bring it! Workers have tremendous power to fight back against a system that treats them like dirt. As socialists, we believe the workplace is a key site of struggle that connects members of the working class and shows them the collective power they have to win a better world.

Pittsburgh DSA supports labor organizing through:

-Solidarity with workers (Supporting their picket lines, rallies, and other calls to action)
-Helping to mentor workers looking to organize their workplaces (through EWOC)
-Connecting socialists and union members who want to make their unions stronger, militant fighting organizations
-Developing and training our members and the community.

Trump’s administration has deployed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a paramilitary force with no regard for the law. ICE is carrying out a campaign of intimidation and violence targeting immigrants and United States citizens.

To defend our communities, Pittsburgh DSA commits to confronting ICE, CBP, and their public and private enablers.

Join our virtual forum to hear updates on progress Pittsburgh DSA has made and hear ways you can get involved. We'll also have a brief Know Your Rights training.

Meet us at the DSA office for some fun art before the May Day march!

Join us for the second meeting of our reading and discussion group for Vicky Osterweil's In Defense of Looting. Using the book as a reference point, we will discuss looting, rioting, and other violent or extreme revolutionary tactics that have been used historically, and whether they can be valid and effective in our present-day struggle. May 1st is International Workers' Day! Join DSA in marching and flyering for our ICE Out priority at the annual May Day Rally & March in downtown Pittsburgh!

The DSA contingent will meet at 5pm outside Genoa Pizza & Bar (111 Market St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222) to coordinate flyering materials and flags/signs. Then the rally begins at 5:30pm at the United Steelworkers building around the corner.

Pittsburgh DSA hosts a monthly happy hour for workers to gather, build bonds across workplaces, and talk about organizing. We will be meeting at East End Brewing from 6:30-9pm. Bring a co-worker, invite your unionized friends and your yet-to-be-organized friends, and enjoy the solidarity!

Join the No Appetite for Apartheid (NA4A) campaign in Pittsburgh! We will be gathering in person at Jackworth Ginger Beer (6615 Hamilton Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. East Liberty) to touch base about the campaign, connect with volunteers, and brainstorm ways to make Pittsburgh apartheid-free!
